Boys' Night Out

It was a fine Saturday night as our Blues Crew headed out to London to catch the Blues Caravan show at the Borderline in Soho.

We started the night with a stop at the original Hard Rock Cafe where we were treated like rock stars by the Hand of Rock, Jimmie, and then ate the best hamburger (and biggest) that I have ever had in the UK. So, after devouring half a cow and downing too many Stellas, we made our way via the tube to the Borderline where we feasted on some of the best new blues artists on the scene today. So, instead of writing a lot today, I thought I'd just take you on a photo tour. Lot's of pics so please be patient while they load.

Me sitting on Jimi Hendrix' sofa with his Gibson Flying V (as seen in Rainbow Bridge).

UPDATE, 7 Apr 06: I was watching a documentary on Jimi Hendrix the other night and they were showing a clip from a recording session while he was recording "All Along the Watchtower," and he was actually recording with THIS guitar!

Wearing Bo Diddley's hat and strumming on his guitar. How cool is that?

And then there's Lucille. One of B. B. King's old ones. Note behind me on your right is a separate safe for Stevie Ray Vaughn's Fender Stratocaster.

I don't think there is any question where this Les Paul Custom came from.

Wishing a. that I had the talent to really make this sing, b. that I could take this home, c. all of the above.

Stevie Ray Vaughn's Strat.

Jimmie, the Hand of Rock (and keeper of The Vault at the Hard Rock).

Erja Lyytinen, Finnish blues lady.

Aynsley Lister, Erja Lyytinen, Ian Parker, Blues Caravan.

And back to Hogwarts.

As always, Life is a Sandwich. Eat it up!
